Green Fantasy Forest - Taiwan travel blog 2019

This photo reminds me of the "Hobbits house"
watch the movie to feel the vibes (wink).

I am not in the set of the Hobbits, however, I am in the forest.
Yes, you heard me right I am or rather we are in the Green Fantasy Forest in Taiwan. This is actually the last stop of our Taichung Day tour.
By its name, you will have an idea what is this place about. My thought was we are going to see a forest excluding all the other words that come before it. To my surprise, the name itself is the best way to describe this place.
It will create the Fantasy that you want in your photos or video while inside the green Forest.

Entrance Fee is 300 NTD  and or 500 NTD (for unlimited hours).

At the entrance with my Travel Squad Specials Ladies

It is a picturesque scenery. It is good for wedding photoshoots, actually, we saw many couples or group having their photo shoots for a wedding. They have different structures to choose from that will match a wedding theme. They have gardens, cafes, phone booths, churches (which comes in different structural shapes), houses and so many more.

Below photos was actually taken by a "Kuya" over there. And he really took amazing photos for us even teaching us how to pose, showing us the right spot or angle, even the background he showed us halfway around the place. And there is more, he knows how to adjust the settings of our smartphones to have great lighting, in a way we kinda learn from him. Even though he doesn't speak English his action was truly welcoming to tourist like us. As the saying goes action speaks louder than words. From the bottom of our hearts "Xie Xie nin Kuya".

Rainbow Village , Taichung - Taiwan Travel blog 2019

Rainbow Village is one of top of the list of Instagrammable places in Taichung.
The place looks so cute and so vibrant in colours. I felt when I first saw it there should be a story behind this. And yes indeed, There was it started from a Grandpa who wanted to save his village from demolition.
It was formerly known as Caihongjuan Village, it was built for veteran soldiers in the city. Around 1,200 houses were built in the village. As time passed the place become desirable and developers got interested to buy it. However, Grandpa Huang, one of the resident didn't want to leave his home and begun painting his house colourfully and with comic characters and animals for protest. He told his neighbours to do the same. His story attracted attention to many and was able to save part of the village. There were only 11 remainder houses in the village and it was called Rainbow Village.

Mr. Huang fought in the Republic of China army and fled to Taiwan in the 1940s. It is said that he still resides in the village and sometimes makes an appearance and presents his artwork to the visitors. He actually has a small corner with a table and some ink on the village. There was a coin souvenirs machine which we saw. We didn't get to see Grandpa Huang.

This Grandpa Huang little Corner with his photo behind us (oops, you can barely see him).

Click below for my Raw Vlog on this place.
