Yehliu, Geopark - Taiwan travel blog 2019

Specials Ladies are here again on our Klook Day Tour

Today I will or we will take you to Northern Taiwan. One of the famous attraction in the North was Yehliu Geopark. This place is famous because of its landscape. A landscape of honeycomb and mushroom rock formation. It is the formation of sea bays because of the impact of sea erosion.

Let's try to be scientific (wink), Weathering is the decomposition of earth rocks through direct contacts with the planet's atmosphere it can turn into sands, mud and soil due to to the chemical changes. Still confused (just like me, hahaha!), let me just show you guys some of the rock formations we saw and was able to take photos to explain further.

Character representation of the rock formation (so cute!)

The First Rock Formation we saw
Queen's Head
Honeycomb Rock behind us (right side)

Mushroom Rock

Of course, this is not a rock formation it is a Statue of Lin Tian Zhen, a local fisherman who saves a student ( from a group of student who is visiting the place before it becomes a tourist spot, was just open scenic place), unfortunately, both of them drowned in the end. President Chiang Kai Shek orders to set a statue of the fisherman in memory of his brave acts. We saw some groups of students as well while we are on this tour and though I don't understand them, they all know the story and give their respects by their gesture.

The most famous was the Queen Head Rock because it looks like the side Face of Queen Elizabeth due because this rock upper part has fallen apart years ago.
Honeycombed Rock it is the rocks with many holes with different sizes and appears like a honeycomb.
There is also called the Mushroom Rock is grouped on the platform with a globe-shaped rock on the top supported by thin stone pillars on the bottom.
Ginger Rock because of the rough surface and beige tint as appeared.
Candle Shaped Rock a round shape concretion containing lime is formed on the central top of the rock and surrounded by circular groves.
Bean Curd Rock it is spread neatly at the edge of the sea cliff. It is a group of concretion being vertical to each other.
Fairy Shoe Rock is from the ginger rock group and it is formed due to seawater erosion on the rock layer along with the impact of stratum extrusion.
Marine Bird Rock There was a story of a Netherland sailboat was shipwrecked at Yehliu and floated in front of the Lover's Cave. None of the crew survived and there was this little bird who keeps whimpering for help until it died. Scientifically speaking the rock formation is still due to Weathering.

There are still so many rock formation like Ice cream Rock, Elephant Rock, Peanut Rock, Pearl Rock, Camel Rock, Buddhist Monastic Pig and the Little Turtle, Fried Drumstick, Parrot Rock, Old man's head, Pig Rear Leg,Lion's head Rock,Dragon's head Rock,Gorilla Rock,Pineapple Bun, Japanese Geisha and Taiwan Rock . They are named as per the shape of the rocks.

This place has caves too, to name some Mazu Cave, Lover's Cave and Naughty Kid's Cave.

This Yehliu Geopark is amazingly beautiful it has a lot of story from old folks and still yet science explains about this rock formation.Did I tell you that Yehliu cape is like a turtle crouching by the sea the reason it's called the Yehliu Turtle.

Whatever is your perspective it is GOD's creation that makes us awed and wonder when you see this place.

Green Fantasy Forest - Taiwan travel blog 2019

This photo reminds me of the "Hobbits house"
watch the movie to feel the vibes (wink).

I am not in the set of the Hobbits, however, I am in the forest.
Yes, you heard me right I am or rather we are in the Green Fantasy Forest in Taiwan. This is actually the last stop of our Taichung Day tour.
By its name, you will have an idea what is this place about. My thought was we are going to see a forest excluding all the other words that come before it. To my surprise, the name itself is the best way to describe this place.
It will create the Fantasy that you want in your photos or video while inside the green Forest.

Entrance Fee is 300 NTD  and or 500 NTD (for unlimited hours).

At the entrance with my Travel Squad Specials Ladies

It is a picturesque scenery. It is good for wedding photoshoots, actually, we saw many couples or group having their photo shoots for a wedding. They have different structures to choose from that will match a wedding theme. They have gardens, cafes, phone booths, churches (which comes in different structural shapes), houses and so many more.

Below photos was actually taken by a "Kuya" over there. And he really took amazing photos for us even teaching us how to pose, showing us the right spot or angle, even the background he showed us halfway around the place. And there is more, he knows how to adjust the settings of our smartphones to have great lighting, in a way we kinda learn from him. Even though he doesn't speak English his action was truly welcoming to tourist like us. As the saying goes action speaks louder than words. From the bottom of our hearts "Xie Xie nin Kuya".
