The Quetz at Ocean Park - at the top

What is exactly on top of the Summit? Why it's a must to go there when you visit Ocean Park.Because it's simply just fun. There are incredible rides to choose from. Rides have age bracket before you can ride them. There is a ride for all ages. And if you don't feel like to ride just like me you can stroll and explore the area. There is a place that you thought you step into time like the little China town, not its name for me it just looks like that!

Shaped like a dragon only Daddy Quetz and Aunt Kaye try this

This is the Ying and Yang where give you a glimpse view of the Mountain.

Below shots, you can see almost the entire Island or Mountain which for its height. Height means for me fear however this time around I was just astonished by the majestic views right in front of me.

Rainy gloomy day View

About to rain view

Looks that we Survived and successful

While we explore the area we saw this place looks like a Chinatown or should  I say old Chinatown.
It's a bit darker because of the rain although still, it's just a late afternoon or should  I say early evening only.

It's a cage with a fake bird

At the Market

As we are the only one left.

And there was a cable car, we couldn't resist riding before we leave and go home.
This one ride that the whole family enjoy regardless of the age nor the gender. I sure know because that happened to us. Indeed, one day is not enough to explore this place however for us we didn't have time. This anyway will not be the last, can't wait to go back to this place when Munchkins little bit older.

After the adventure in Ocean Park, we are famished. Stop by to Spaghetti House, noodles for long life since we are celebrating Jaja's 7th Birthday. The truth of the matter is this is the first place we saw where the taxi drops us off. Munchkin Memes so tired that she couldn't wait for her food. She just slept there while we dine.

After Dinner, the issue is transportation we don't know where to get a taxi. However, that's the beauty of being a tourist in Hongkong it is not difficult to navigate the place. There are signs you can follow.
Although there is a slight obstacle conversing to the local (seems everywhere is), that anyway is a part of our adventure.
We manage to find the bus stop and we just google which bus to take which we find a lot easier.

Jaja waving for a taxi

We change our mind and decided to take a bus instead.

At the bus station now and still waiting.

And what do you think? Did we reach home? Yes, we did hassle-free. For us, public transportation in Hongkong is a lot easier than riding a cab because of the language barrier. However, the point of the matter here transportation good check for a tourist. We are loving this place by the minute.
See you all in the next blog.

The Quetz Travel - Oean Park -Cable Ride/ Ocean Express Tram

Let's ride the Cable Car. OMG, although I love to travel and love aeroplanes I am afraid of heights and mostly theme Parks or city attraction has cable car it is always a struggle for me. This time I don't want to be the killjoy because we are here to celebrate Jaja's 7th birthday and have an adventure as a family. And I want them to feel good and condition them that is okay to ride it (wink).

The Ocean Park cable car transport you from the Waterfront and the summit and back, it is one of the options of transportation in Theme Park. It is also an attraction who visits this place as her you can see an aerial view of the bays and the surrounding islands.

Leading the way to the Cable Car

Take a pose before this ride

Aunt Kaye: Hello Geron (BF) we are about to ride the Cable car.

Red telephone booth

Just like a Kalesa back home Daddy Quetz as the Horse (hahaha!)
These poses are a way to condition my kids before we take the ride. The height and dropping of the stomach feeling while we are high on the ground due to gravity. Happy thought first(hahaha!). Just a reminder that this is a very popular ride and usually there is a long queue and the waits can be longer. Ideally, time to go here is early in the morning or later in the afternoon when crowds subside.

And here we are standing  and ready

                                                               Ready

                                                            Get Set

 Go

We are actually feeling the pressure here. Jaja is reacting now however for Memes still nothing.

It is what they say spectacular view awaits you on the cable car. My trick and always works were to look straight so you will not feel the pressure. However, there is a chance that you will miss this beautiful view. So while you are young and able enjoy the ride whether it will be on a cable car or life.
Our view

Cable Car

My thought here almost there, so try to peek on the view.

This is how you should look like after the ordeal that happened on the cable car.

View on top of the Summit

Actually, it pours rain a little bit when we are here. So we hurry down as the weather is not sky clear.
Hoping to return to this place when my kids a lot bigger for them to enjoy and save the moments on their treasure box.

Jaja: look at me climbing the mountain!
Memes: Look at me eat my fingers!

Dance time
There's another way to and fro the summit is through the Ocean Express Tram. The tram runs non stop during opening hours. It huge and with a capacity of approximately 5,000 people so very seldom it will have a queue like a cable car. Sometimes you have to wait for hours.
This has a nautical theme. It looks like a submarine if you notice from our picture mostly standing space and less seating options which is okay because this tram ride will last only for four minutes.
That's how fast it is. It is a wheelchair friendly, visitors can remain in their wheelchairs.
While we are on it, we felt we are in the submarine. We did have a submersible experience.
It has the same technology of the Victoria Peak Tram, travels on a 1.3-kilometre tunnel that was excavated through a mountain. The reason that you will not see a view, unlike the cable car ride.

That's how you go to the Ocean Park Summit. Whatever you choose still will give you a memorable experience.
This blog might not be quite updated as after many years will be able to post our experience however still worth a read. Moments like this are my trinkets.  Will see you all in the next blog.
